Scribeslice Spacing- today's little rant.

I enjoy most things about scribeslice but there is one thing that sort of annoys me trom time to time.
After finally drafting, editing etc a story on Microsoft Word I copy and paste it into Scribeslice's "New Writing". Despite the fact that in "Word" all the paragraphs have been spaced the story/poem etc comes up unspaced and I have to got to the hassle of respacing the paragraphs again.
Does anyone else find this annoying or are you all just used to it now.

It is rather annoying. Also, it has other bugs. For example, indenting is basically wiped away and on certain web browsers it can just delete your work all-together if you aren't careful about it. I mean, maybe they were just freak accidents - but they get on your nerves after a while.

Also, what is the deal with being able to make your submission as long as you want, BUT the original post has to be 1000 characters. How does that make any sense? You have to go back and only copy/paste a little bit of a time and its just tedious and makes the spacing problem all the more painstakingly annoying.

I write directly in the text box. It is a bit difficult and sometimes the auto correct option makes weird spelling changes but it's easier to edit here the first time than cut paste from an editor.

There is a way around it, by increasing the paragraph spacing on word but most times I like to keep a backup copy on my harddrive. Reading documents in that type of format can be a little off putting, especially if it is a long story/article etc.

Yes. Another problem is that if you leave the page with the text box on here for too long while checking some other page in a new tab, it reloads, and you lose all the text, so a better option is to just write the basic text in any editor and pasting it here first and editing it here only.

All good comments here. I also find it to be quite annoying!

SS's 'New Writing' section has always been like this. You C/P your work here and edit it afterwards. Which, yes, includes paragraph indenting (i use 5 spaces) italics, bold, etc. Maybe Jon Paul will add a basic word program to the new format. Food for thought to Jon. :)

Hi all, definitely something I will consider putting in. I am possibly changing direction on the site upgrades as my 'wholesale' change is simply taking too long to sort out; therefore I think I will start modifying the current site a little to make some much needed improvements - each little change will take longer than on a new platform, but I can role them out one at a time which will happen much quicker than waiting for an entire system upgrade! One thing I am going to do is put up a 'requests' system (not in scribeslice itself) to manage feature requests. Stay tuned!

Jon, do you mind if we make a scribe slice Facebook page as fans?

Looking forward to the positive changes Jon! :)

Hi Asma, before you do, let me setup an 'official' one - give me two days and I will post back here when it is done.

Oh great! I was hesitant to make a fan page as people sometimes think its a fraud. I didn't want to take up more than is my business, thanks a lot and post soon as a lot of members want to join it. I already asked. Thanks.
