For Charlie

Multi-colored dreams trapped in a shattered shell.
Broken reality - with not a tale to tell.
      Aspirations were crushed, beyond repair.
Life was an illusion; not true, even fair.

The darkness was growing; closing in.
What I had in mind, definitely, a sin.
Turning away from all joy and hope.
Failing beyond all reasoning to cope.

     Shadows were dancing on my grave;
knowing that I am more cursed than saved.

     Beyond madness, shedding my tears.
     Alone. Scared. Facing my fears.
Will be tormented; completely, full measure.
Watching the demon smile in hellish pleasure.

Descending into the pit of despair.
     " I am damned, " I, knowingly, declare.

     Truly, lost; eternally gone.
Never knew I was only a pawn.
Damnation is forever as I, now, see.
It was all a lie. I was never free.
