For Charlie

      Dear heart, do not burst today.
     Was not her fault you went away.
     The times were against you from the start;
     did not know it would all fall apart.
     Please, do not shed a tear,
     only leads to doubt and fear.
     Try to show a happy face.
     Make very sure your smile is in place.
     After you have left and gone,
     she will find the courage to carry on.

     You know it is better this way.
     She will move on to a better day.
     Hoping, she will see as you do now,
     God will help her make it through somehow.
     Make your memory, slowly, fade.
     You were nothing, only jade.
     Seems it was never meant to be;
     of that,now, you truly see.
     Please, dear heart, do not break.
     You know deep down; it was not a mistake.
