soul mates

Just a thought on aging.

Just like an old barn I'm standing
Watching the world go by.
Through the eyes of my loft window
I can see things live and die.

My boards are gently weathered
And my roof has turned to gray
And I'll never look as good
As I did on my first day.

I've stood the test of time and sun
And now I'm growing old,
And though my boards are bending
I still look good, I'm told.

But one thing is for certain
When they haul my boards away,
I'll be with the one who built me
Where forever more I'll stay.
