soul mates

...left to live...

Would you give me your last breath?
I want to give you mine
entangled in eternity
finally tasting the sublime.

This life did not allow us
all we wanted or adored
so in the end I’ll take it
make my way down to your shore.

I know it isn’t the most noble
but still, I’ve sacrificed
living years in mere existence
my heart straining through the ice.

You opened it, yes, thawed it
made me blossom once again
and so I want to touch your smile
lie with you naked, unashamed.

Would you give me your last breath?
