For Charlie

I had the idea to write this when we were experiencing strong winds in the area (my kind of weather personally! ) and the wind against my window sounded like waves on the shore.. I must say it got me pretty inspired :)

The wind outside my window,
sounds so like the sea.

Thick walls are keeping me,
from being truly free.

The stillness of my bedroom,
adds to my unease.

My heart is sorely beating,
amid the writhing trees. 2 comments

Invisible waves are crashing,
I’m soaked with tempting spray.

Visions are imploring,
I end my long delay.

Yearning deep within me,
gnaws at my resistance.

Loudly it compels me,
pushing its insistence.

Chained by hesitation,
I cowardly refrain.

Reluctant to cross over,
I’m told I must remain.

Someone shuts the window,
and sudden silence kills me.

The wind outside my window,
Sadly fades to memory.
