If you want things that way

Written  in August 2011, this is based very loosely on the complaints of a friend who has to go to London from time to time to visit his sister.   It has little to do with his  or anyione else's own reality.  It is  just a song. It is up tempo and fun to play.

LONDON BELLS
Got a call from London:
“I’m not really having fun , it’s cold and grey
I can’t afford to eat and I’m not sleeping well
The room I rent is much too small,  I bump my head
And I was groped out in the hall yesterday.

What made me think  I’d be happy in this place.
I close my eyes and all I see is you.
The world will keep spinning ,  London bells will be ringing,
I’ll still be loving you.”

Got a call from London:
“I’m walking in the rain and soaking wet.
I left my umbrella on the tube.
I had a date last Saturday I couldn’t wait
To get back to my room and hide within the gloom.

What made me think  I’d be happy in this place?
I close my eyes and all I see is you.
The world will keep spinning,  London bells will be ringing,
I’ll still be loving you.”

“The bells were ringing, had  me hypnotized.
Tantalized,   I  walked away
I never said goodbye,   I hate to cry like this
And I can’t take one more day.”

What made me think I’d be happy in this place
I close my eyes, all I see is you
The world will keep spinning , London bells will be ringing,
I’ll still be loving you.
