soul mates

I must confess I was in a happy mood when I wrote this ode to Old Man Summer. I will miss the warmth when autumn comes calling once more.Have a happy holiday! :)

Ah..yes,good old summertime
pour me another cold glass
of your sunshine smile
let me luxuriate
as I sift the sand betwixt
me toes

time to rejuvenate
time to recharge
the machine
oh, please, don`t speak
to me of work
at this time
oh can`t you see
I`m busy doing nutthin`
just eatin`my muffin
wanna bite?

see my hammock view?
see the clouds?
how they they form shapes and wonders
see, over there?
I thought I saw
the face of Abe Lincoln
just now, and then, the wind
picked up
and blew it ta shit!
or was it Warshington?
carving out its`face of stone
in canyons of ethereal sky

must turn over now
must get that brown
just right
hey, pass the Coppertone!
the summer breaks my heart
when, at last
it has to leave

my enemy September
back to the books
duty calls
someone has to bring
home cold comfort
see ya next year!
