Sometimes, it's just do frustrating

I sit accused
By the monitor's unblinking eye,
By wagging fingers in fifty Hertz flickering.
I am judged by Windows ninety five
And found wanting by Microsoft Word.
My words?
Well they remain in my head as I sit
Tongue-tied and finger-plaited.
Untyped
Unspoken
Inchoate
And yet they bite and bite hard.

I sit and wait for the books to write themselves.
I play Championship Manager 2003.
I watch my avatar cavort in Second Life.
I feed the cat.
I go to Belgium.
I work, I eat, I sleep
And everything I do
Is 'not writing'
My life is the things I do when inspiration fails to strike.

I sing.
I learn to play the dulcimer.
I go to Mars.
And on my gravestone may be carved in stone,
"Did not write".
