soul mates

I was the epitome of innocence

Being naive enough to trust anyone

       He was saint-like

       He cared

       Until one day

He touched the face of purity

       He no longer was nice

He no longer was the grown up I knew

       It happened again

       No one noticed

       I was nine

       I was a child

       Although he eventually stopped

       It's hard to look back

To understand I had once lived with a man

Who stole the face of the untouched
