soul mates

Peace, my friend, compassion shouldn’t have to wait.
You can’t breathe easy while you’re sweating pure hate.
Don’t be one of the foolish trying to bar heaven’s gate.
If understanding starts with you, then it’s not too late.

Does hating for any reason make things just or fair?
Or make a new cross for your child to later bear?
Would it even matter if my blood was never even there?
Or if both our grandfather’s sin is the same to share?

I learned the wrong of making one crawl on all fours.
And busting open is not the best way to use doors.
So add a grain of thought to salt all of history’s lores.
There’s no pride found in kicking any one across the floors.
