soul mates

My painting washed away from me,
This is it, I thought discretely,
Life just washes away,
I’m nothing, then
With immediate effect
Out of colourless nausea

Comes a heavenly rush,
I throw my hands out angelically
I’m a boy again, a funny young cherub
Just happy
To be alive
Thinking again in the same moment,
I’m a genius, but foremost
An altruist
Who would give their soul for a stranger,
And again in that glorious, night-long moment
I’m totally untempted,
Uncorrupted, yet
