Your voice , your laugh


Restrained behind years of tears.


I feel I must share your suffering,


I try but I can't.


Not even begin to know


Without living in your skin,


The day to day pain,


The minute by minute agony


Of being locked into a broken body.


You smile and play the part


Like it was your choice.


Often too much for me to accept,


So I stand up and walk away.


The part I play everyday


Is to walk away.


Leaving you in the chair.


I am back again to stay another day,


To watch you play your part


For me as I walk away.
