soul mates

Your voice , your laugh

Restrained behind years of tears.

I feel I must share your suffering,

I try but I can't.

Not even begin to know

Without living in your skin,

The day to day pain,

The minute by minute agony

Of being locked into a broken body.

You smile and play the part

Like it was your choice.

Often too much for me to accept,

So I stand up and walk away.

The part I play everyday

Is to walk away.

Leaving you in the chair.

I am back again to stay another day,

To watch you play your part

For me as I walk away.
