soul mates

Wishes are pointless;
Dreams don't come true.
I have no willpower.
There is little I can do.

My mind is frozen.
My mouth has a lock.
My heart has been shut;
I am merely a living rock.

There are words inside,
Screaming to be set free,
But there is no higher being
That can hear my silent plea.

Reality grounds me,
Creating a simple tear.
I open my mouth,
But there is no sound to hear.

I can always rise back up,
But I choose to wait another day.
Hopefully, by that time,
I'll find the words I have to say.

Maybe, I don't need powers.
Someday, I might truly awaken.
But, until that time comes,
My words remain taken.
