This writing contains explicit content and is only for adults. You have been warned.

You are a mess, you are a wreck, you are
A spider in a jar. Bleeding out soon.
Running out of air. Running out of room.
Lack of commitment to what I want to
Tell you. “I only wanted to hold you
for so long.” And then let you back into
The open world you have never been to.

Self-destruction makes you look like a fool.
You are unable to be more stable
In the corners of caves in which you dwell.
Your own private hell, your open, public
Wound. Wound up and bound in a tourniquet.
You didn’t think health was pertinent, love?

And I’m sorry, very fucking sorry.
So very fucking sad. I wish I could
Take you out but leave the pain in the jar.
I could pay your bills, buy you a new car.
Give you a life above the murk of this
Societal gambit of selfish bliss.

When sleeping I do not notice your pain.
So I keep myself awake at all times.
I hold your head near mine and softly sigh.
Every breath you make calms my broken heart.

What am I supposed to do with you, dear?
I’m afraid to take you out of the jar.
I do not want anyone to hurt you.

This façade of distance only makes me
Want to keep you closer… I’ll let you free.

I’m in love with a spider in a jar.
