The thought of digital butterfly still amazes me. I'll draw that out some day

You can tell how often I fall in love with my own words, because I go out of my way to showcase them. I don't know if that means I'm a hack or not. I haven't really cared about it, either way. I write for myself. Audience is barely an afterthought. Anyway. This is one of my favourite stanzas of mine. Glad you noticed it.

Yeah this is my favourite too. That, and the first one as well. Beautiful.

Aaaaarh I do love your work >< this is awesome. This stanza almost sounds eerie and haunting to me, but beautiful.

soul mates

Living underground is
Warmer than
Keeping my head above the clouds.
But my ideals are
Substandard and my
Shoddiness protrudes.
Out into a minefield
Where I am
A habitual line crosser.
Where the cross I bear can
Fit into the pocket of
The shirt I take off.
To avoid wearing
My heart on my sleeve
And bleeding out on the world.

I’ll stop when I need to
But I need this
I forgot how addictions work
Is it normal to
Be bleeding from the pores?
Don’t take that literally
It’s a metaphor
Or allegory.
Can’t remember which.

Something inside
Was beautiful ‘til I broke it.

All this pain and anguish
I learned from TV
Perfected duplicity
I lose control of my better half.
Digital butterfly
Send me a photo
Of your cocoon.
I guess I’ll go and drown today
To resurface on the moon. 2 comments

Painted on your face today
You thought you would go nowhere
Stepping out into the world today
To be caught up in the winds
Tell me more of your words to say
I want to steal your soul
And make it mine
Tell me some more bright news today
I want to see the sun shine.

If I told you that I loved you
Would you say that you’re scared?
Terrified of what’s to come
When you relieve those burdens that you bear
Tell me something interesting
And I’ll sing it half in tune
I guess I’ll go and drown today
And resurface on the moon. 3 comments

These electric cords
That make up my spine
Are growing bored
Of being connected to my mind
They just want to float freely
Dissolve out into dust
It just happens so neatly
The way my body starts to rust.

This microscopic prism
Of emotional schism
Only cowards sleep
But I need to dream
I’m lost at turns I invented
To hide from not wanting to hide anymore.

I feel broken down
Perhaps more than ever
And for the first time since I’ve reached adulthood
I feel awake.

Musical notes
Floating past
What’s in the past?
Well, mostly you.
Barely coherent
Except my love for you.

These piano strings
Made of golden things
Are getting tightened
And the notes that sound out
The tinkling laughter of your voice. 2 comments

And even if we slept all day
Just barely touching in the bed
We’d still have kind soft words to say
When we visit each other’s heads
To avoid the cliché of “I love you’s”
We’ll speak in whispered code
An abrupt ending has no excuse
When
