      Mothers Visits

Lingering expectancy endures
(Although a waning woman)
As a child’s on Christmas morn
Her presence; precious gift
Placed for me, under my heart
Her sojourn, which carries me
Enlivens my smiling spirit
Those thousands of mother’s miles
Through many of mother’s years
She arrives then fades as mist
Within my synonymous dream
Leaving her entrance at my door
Before I desist as one’s child
Proclaimed as humble legacy
A day to discern
Oh, how I yearn
That I may have “Christmas”
Once more
