This poem is about me, 'walking in the rain' with no money to buy food or drink.

I was walking in the rain
sunny days seem far away
take me back to yesterday
when it was a sunny day
but looking at the weather now
it doesn't seem to be getting any better
on and on, the rain just keeps on falling down
not knowing when the rain will stop.

So I ask myself 'how does it feel to walk in the rain?'
I feel soaking wet and I want to go home.

As the rain continues to pour down
my coat, trousers and socks are soaking wet
all I wanna do is go home
but home feels like forever
as my stomach starts to rumble
walking in the rain
all I can think about is food
but I have no money.

So I ask myself 'how does it feel to walk in the rain?'
I feel soaking wet and I'm hungry for some food.

But still I'm walking home in the rain
as the water continues to fall
so far away from home
I think I'm going to need a rest
so I walked over to the shelter
the rain didn't seem to wanna stop
so I went back outside in the rain
then I felt really thristy
but I have just remembered
I don't have no money.

So I ask myself 'how does it feel to walk in the rain?'
I feel soaking wet and I'm thristy.

Later I get nearer to home
as I walk along the road, where I live
I start to smell all types of different food
from spicy curry to fish and chips.

So I ask myself 'how does it feel to be at home?'
well, I have had something to eat and drink
also I feel nice and dry, like I never left home.
