soul mates

This poem is inspired by my wife, who loves to do counted-cross stitch sewing.

Color me green

That is the best color

And to be colored by you

Would be bliss

Upon the tapestry

You so lovingly stitch

I would be the beloved

Focal point of your affection

Swirling in hues of green…

Of living green

Stitched from your heart

Upon the cloth

Wrought with keen attention

To the detail of the moment

And satisfying some urge

To create the passion

Vigorously flying upon

The cloth like a guided-missile

Intently fiery

And falling upon its prey

Locked in mortal conflict to explode

And wrest order from chaos

Beauty from blankness

Green from white
