soul mates

During warmer times it is less beautiful and much more of a job---

That old willow tree of mine

I pick up its branches that have fallen and prune it all around

I admire its color---lighter green than the other trees---and its stateliness, and verdant cascading  boughs, and I find that I love it

And to think that I treasure it most in the cold of winter

When I think the world less beautiful and more austere

It would seem so weird that I see it as if for the first time in winter

This flowing tree that I trimmed in the fall

All even above the ground

Now it wears angel wings

And looks like some royal beauty decked in unearthly vestments of white feathered splendor 1 comment

It stands immense to me, like some mountain peak filling the landscape around it
It echoes wordlessly of its splendor, yet shouts in awe and magnificence, “I am here!  I am beautiful!  Look at me!”

Yes, you sing to me, “Winter’s not so bad."

Thanks for bringing joy to me
