This is my new word, paralipsis.  For those of you who want to know, it is defined as a literary device that reveals a subject by leaving it conspicuously absent.  Can you reveal the hidden meaning in this offering?

Tread softly in the quiet night, let footfalls whisper, “All is right.”

Walk meekly in the morning light, let walking be your one delight

Stride proudly in the noonday sun; pick up the pace, life’s just begun

Trot gamely in the afternoon, sing a song and lift a tune

Run boldly in the setting sun, far the race and far to run

Tread softly in the quiet night. . .
