In my own opinion perhaps the word "complex" would work better here than the word "complicated"

I've considered that myself..

I see how that might be the case, but I like the ending the way it is. It nicely illustrates how writing, which would seem so simple, has become complicated. The abrupt halt in the poems flow further aids the expression of that frustration. I too have felt this...

That's actually why I ended up using the word "complicated" instead of "complex". I like the fact that it doesn't flow and completely interrupts the rhythm of the poem.

On having trouble writing my novel

These are simple sentences.
Sentences made of simple words.
Words made of simple letters.
Letters thrown together by a simple mind.

A mind filled with simple thoughts.
Thoughts formed from simple dreams.
Dreams based on simple hopes.
Hopes for reaching simple goals.

But creating simple sentences
To obtain my simple goal
Is becoming more and more
Complicated. 4 comments
