Humor on TV

I love to explore. I just get in my truck and go to places that I have never been to before. Most of the time it is very spontaneous. I just get an urge, decide to go and I'm on my way. Sometimes I do not know where I am going ahead of time. I just drive until I get there.

I have found some really interesting out of the way places using this method. Once I stumbled into a Missouri conservation park way out in the middle of nowhere. I was awestruck. I saw a wide variety of beautiful birds, butterflies, cattails, wild flowers, a small lake with snapping turtles and red eared sliders (turtles).

It could also be a dangerous place if you are not cautious. Snakes reside in the tall grass. There is the possibility of contact with poison ivy, poison oak, insect bites and getting lost in unfamiliar territory. In spite of the danger it was a very beautiful, quiet and serene place. It's really too bad that most us have such hectic planned out lives that we never know that these places exist.

Most people experience the same problem with their personal lives. They are so busy with their hectic, planned out lives, that they never have time to realize the dangers, or the beauty.

When we let ourselves get run down and tired we don't see the snake in the grass. Our health suffers, we aren't as alert as we should be and some of us get lost not knowing any other way to live our lives. We miss the beauty of our children growing up, close relationships, laughter, coffee with friends and most importantly fellowship with God.

It is in the times when I am in communion with God that we (God and I) examine my heart and life together. He helps me to build defenses against the dangers, and I learn to see the beautiful things God has done for me and in me.

So set aside some time to relax, a Sabbath. Go for a drive and explore the beauty of everything around you. Get in the presence of God. Learn to realize all the beautiful things God has done for you and in you.

Ps 103: 1-5

Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
