Let's Discuss

Hi all on Scribeslice...Let us all discuss what we feel about this site.

Personally, I know it is a slow as you go...at the moment...but what are you willing to do about it?

Will you contribute?
Will you reply?
Will you answer all writers?
Do you understand why?

PLEASE WRITE AND CONTRIBUTE!!!

for a while, I was contributing without replies or feedback.

I reply when I understand what the piece is relating.

I answer when spoken to by others.

to understand why this is happening maybe the community leaders and /or Jon paul may explain what is being tried or discussed to boost the site's life.

Thanks Leonard... for contributing to this site, you always have.
So thank you!

Community Leaders have seem to have disappeared....So be it.

Jon Paul...WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT This ALL?

THIS SPELLS THE END...I AM READY TO DELETE ALL OF MY WRITINGS!!!

DOES ANYONE MIND?

The truth is that scribeslice is still my favorite writing site. The people are nice and always helpful and encouraging. I am guilty of being absent for a few reasons. I have been working two jobs, I have been uninspired lately but my mistake was to stop checking in and reading others work because this often inspires additional work from me. The idea Asma had of putting up writing prompts was a great one and I miss her input tremendously. I really hope we can brainstorm a way of injecting new life. There are so many great writers here. Let's not let it die a slow death. Thank you Lucy for bringing it up.

Thanks Cindy...I know when one has work commitments, inspiration is absent, because of the load. It is good of you to find any time at all to be present.

Yes, Asma brought this site to life and even I, was too committed to follow all of her writing prompts.

I am not very inspired either and am off overseas for Easter, so will be absent for a while too.

I love this site and the people on it too and would hate to leave.

Davide: As always, you remain a sparking point for this site. I have always tried to be a part of the community. The problem, as I see it, is that we all have our own lives and sometimes there are things more important in our lives than contributing or commenting on Scribe Slice. For me, there is the matter of my books, writing, promoting and selling them. I am not making a fortune with them, but they are important to me and I do what I can to keep the small income coming. When I have a few moments, usually early in the morning, I comment on peoples works. I think that I am safe in saying that I probably lead the pack in commenting and trying to help others. If not, I'm close to the top. That isn't to blow my own horn, but to say that I have made the concerted effort to be a helper and part of the success of the site, both on and off the internet, often promoting the site elsewhere. So if others can just find a few moments to do the same, we will build this back to where it once was. Keep up the good work, and please don't leave.

I do have a question. When I share a poem on Facebook, it put Davide's picture (the one that looks like a Mickey Mouse emblem) as the Scribeslice page instead of my own, or a Scribeslice logo, Unless of course, the MM emblem look alike IS the Scribelsice logo. Maybe we could all try to device a LOGO for the group and post it as our profile picture, then have Jon Paul choose one to serve as our logo? Any ideas on that? Sorry, Davide, but these tired old eyes see that picture as Mickey Mouse without my glasses.

That's too funny! Now I see Mickey Mouse too!

Hi all, let me wade in a little here too. I have been noticeably less present for the last six months, but that is because I have taken a full time job - ScribeSlice does not make money for me, in fact it costs me money to keep running. I got involved because I love the art of writing and it was my opportunity to get involved in a way that I could (not being much of a writer myself).

I am starting to spend a little more time here again as some of you may have noticed and I am going to be getting my developer to start working on a few things again soon so will bring more and better features and I am also looking to see if I can find a 'managing editor' who is interested in participating more regularly, editing, commenting etc to spark more activity.

That being said, it is up to each of you to want to contribute and be part of a community; to want to share your writing and your perspectives on the writing of others. The opportunity is here for all of us to get more out of SS, but that means we all have to put more into it.

I am very guilty of being absent from ScribeSlice for the past several months for the usual reasons that were already mentioned ( a life!). This "life" has interfered with lots of the things I want to do, as I simply run out of hours in the day. I am making the effort to return. Like Don, I used to read a few things here in the early mornings, many of them got my day off to a good beginning and/or said things I needed to hear at that very moment. I hope this site does not go away because it is important to be able to share our creative work in a non threatening atmosphere like this, in a place where there is good and constructive feedback from people like Don, Lucy and Cindy, and a couple of others.
That is all for now; I have to see the Mickey Mouse logo...

Hi to everyone on Scribeslice, I have written only one lyric and one poem in the year 2014. I have absent for two months, which might seem a long time to some people, I have been busy with work, I have two jobs plus I'm looking after my son too.
But when I been away from Scribeslice, I still try and find time to go library and write, because I feel the more you write the better you become. I like Scribeslice because you can express yourself in writing about life. Now that I'm back I hope to come out with more writing on Scribeslice this year.

Well hello everyone. In the past I have always been fairly good at reading and commenting on the work posted here. That said I have been without a computer for quite some time. Only checking when I had the chance which hasn't been much. Computers are expensive and I have had to save to get a new one which I just purchased yesterday. Now that I have a new computer I will be on more often and refreshing the writing exercises. I have a lot of notices to get through so please be patient with me if it takes me some time to get to yours. Sorry for my prolonged and very rare appearances but it could not be helped.

Well...That was a great response from all of you, which explains much.
I was getting a little disillusioned though with the lack of entries and responses.
However, it's all good. Thanks for replying everyone.

Mickey Mouse? I couldn't see it. My picture was taken in Heidelberg, Germany, of a students café logo sign of a woman and man, which I chose to use as my profile for obvious reasons.

Davide Castel

When you view the small logo from a distance, it looks like mickey mouse's head.

Cindy Beitinger

Hmmm....That's FREAKY!!!

Davide Castel

28th March 2014

Hi ya all...I love what you all write,
Because it not only keeps up appearances,
But it is all so very nice.
Let's keep this alive,
Sometimes, we need it to survive
Yet, at times it stinks,
That makes me, go to the brink!!
COM'ON PEOPLE CONTRIBUTE!

Hi everyone. I'm going to say that once Asma left, everything went downhill. Everyone just stopped contributing as much. She was the one that had the time to read everyone's stories and comment on them therefore she was very active... But like said, most of us don't have that time. I know that I was in a roll for a while, I think everyone was and then writers block hits, but it won't be long before this site gets running again. I haven't really written anything and you would expect me to be on a roll since I'm taking a creative writing class but it's total opposite. Will definitely to try make my way back little by little.

Great Daniela...It is the same for us all.
Yes, Asma was indeed a driving force, for she was committed and believed that we must all use our time productively in what is one of our gifts.

How are you?

Davide Castel

I'm good, writing stories and poems for my creative writing class which I love! Although I personally am not very good at poetry but we're getting there.

How are you???

How's everyone doing?

Now that I attend University full time on top of a job, I barely have time to breathe much less write something that I am proud of.

There is no excuse for not developing your passion, but in the interest of my academic achievement, I made the conscious decision to focus my attention on my studies.

I look forward to submitting more work now that the summer months draw closer.
