Paul is disillusioned!

What is going on here?
Why is Paul disillusioned?
What has made him put down his pen?
Hasn't he been such a great help to us all?
Why and who is jealous of him?
Is it me? Definitely Not!
Any answers?

I am really worried now.

I've just looked up his blogs.

On Amazon he says -
'I have decided to call it a day. I am sorry to the few fans who took the time to read and respond to my work, but I am in a dark place and can no longer go on.'

And on his blog.
'SO SORRY.
It's no longer possible to pursue my publishing dreams and hurt the ones I love. :('

Oh no! :( I wonder what happened?!?!

I think that maybe his family are feeling neglected by his spending too much of his time on writing?
I gathered something was going on when I read his last story this morning called 'The Dream is Over' and I got suspicious.
I then began looking at a few of his responses and there were some clues.
He was in the process of putting together another book, 'So this is what it feels like to die!'
I put 2 and 2 together!
Does anyone else know anything?
Deborah? Don? anyone?

Hmm, give the guy some time to recuperate. he has been working too hard designing stuff. He has to concentrate on his real job too. when I write too much, I have to take time out for my real life too. Instead of other internet and phone ventures, I write here.

I think we should let Paul deal with whatever is bothering him.

My one good guess is that his published work didnt get te recognition it deserved.

If its any consolation, he is not alone.Brilliant minds are often unnoticed in this age of free stuff and commercialism.

being a realist myelf, I believe that perhaps Paul should seriously think about having a career in designing and advertising as he is too good in that and it pays money too if you get a lucky break.

PAul is a lovely guy and I have always loved reading him. I pay him compliments, if thats worth anything.

Who knew shakepear in his life? So for some, fame comes late in life, but by that time, through practice in perfecting their skills they become more efficient than most renowned people in there fields who had the spotlight from day one.

Paul came twice on Scribeslice. He came first and them deleted his original profile, this is his second profile. If he decides to come back, I am sure he will update us. If not, we respect his private space and wish him all the best as in my eyes, he is indeed a talent that should not go unnoticed.

Thank you for doing that Asma...it's invaluable for us of all here and I want his work to be read time and time again too. You are very selfless and very giving unto others.

Ok everybody I think it is a time for a reminder (and a warning). These forums are for discussing WRITING, not the personal lives of other people in negative or A derogatory manner.

(i have removed all the replies above that were not appropriate)

If you wish to start and have a discussion about other PEOPLE, then please make a private group and invite who you wish and then you can say what you like. However, it will not stand in the public groups.

A few best bahavour rules we should all keep in mind.

1. The focus of this site is to encourage and support writers, readers, and those that love writing and reading, to share positive and instructional critique and information about writing, editing, publishing.

2. We seek to build a community based on mutual respect, a commitment to sharing information and a positive attitude of exploration.

3. Contributions not welcome include ad hominem attacks (http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/ad-hominem.html), appeals to ridicule(http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/appeal-to-ridicule.html), red herring posts(http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/red-herring.html), poisoning the well(http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/poisoning-the-well.html) and agenda threads, as well as negative or derogatory discussions about other people.

I agree with you Jon. Thank you.

I hope that what I contribute in my writing and in my discussions, are worthwhile and not derogatory to this writing site.
Writers who write in a derogatory or hateful manner, should be banned from this site.

Lucy, Jon is taking a personal interest now. You can always message him your concerns directly. Writers don't have to be banned. I checked. Your writing can just be deleted by a community leader or Jon himself.

A bit of a surprise that you log in and find your inappropriate words vanished. Think of it as a CLEANUP OPERATION.

I noticed that Asma...I was a bit blunt too, but had to have my say on what I thought was in bad taste.

Davide Castel

It's been taken care of now. Rules have been been put in. :)

Finally...someone has been proactive.
I wasn't happy with my responses either. Okay out of sight, out of mind.

Davide Castel

No issues. :)

I havent made the rules. They were here before I came along. I am just following them, hoping others will follow suit. :)

You know i was starting to wonder about all the NON writing discussions that have been flooding into the site lately. I was thinking about starting a 'Writing' group for those who actually wanted to start talking about writing. LOL Thank you Jon for putting your foot down, so to speak.
