I wrote this 13 years ago just for the sake of writing. I present it here because of my writer's block. Hope you enjoy it.

As I look out my frosted window at the purity

of the snowfall I wonder why it is there.

Is it as others have said, in naivety, angels'

dandruff as they cleanse their wings.

Or is it as scientists have theorized- water frozen

that the earth may be replenished.

The first is strictly childish folklore told

by parents to children too young to

understand the real reason.

The scientists are wrong, as well.

If the earth really needed replenishing

why make snow when rain more than sufficiently

accomplishes the task.


The real reason there is snow is that

even God became bored after the Creation and

needed a distraction to amuse Himself.

With this in mind, He created what would be

the most simple in construction.

The earth is already round like a ball.

Just add snow flurries that, silently, cascade

down and you have the answer-
