I like this poem when you think of "Dad" as "(the word and sociocognitive associations connected to) Dad".

Loved the 'Down through the years, tears, fears' beginnings.

I heartily agree. That was a masterful line.

soul mates

I just felt Something moving me to share this with you. It gives me hope to carry on if I can imagine there is someone who cares for me more than any human being ever could.

Down through the years
He chased me
cause I wasn`t always
that easy to find

Just like a kid
I meandered at will
but, Dad, was always there
to pick me up
when it seemed
no one else gave a damn

Down through the tears
He comforted me
when my earthly mother
sometimes forgot
she had a son

Sometimes when Dad wanted to talk
I wouldn`t listen
cause the years
of hard living
turned me to stone

Down through my fears
He stood with me
when the odds
were a hundred to one

I could feel Him there
with me
Dad will always be Dad
through the good
and the bad 1 comment

Down through the years
He`ll be with me
from the cradle
to the grave
my soul
He will carry 2 comments
