soul mates

Spring is when, in the throes of the deepest tempests,
An earthly knell strikes up and
The resonant chords of a morning calm
Subsides itself in the teeming deep.

Spring is there, for us to believe,
In the momentary calmness
That induces a paralysis of the senses,
From the fragrant bosoms of the earthly bowers.

Spring lays rest to the smarting benevolence
Of a raging sun caught
In the midst of the unforgiving skies,
And the wayfaring clouds that our kens stare at aglow.

Spring is for us to listen to
The lustful cries of the peacock’s peals when,
In a phase of prolonged stillness,
It awakens the sleeping hare that now flees, like a rush of lightning
Caught in the midst of the blooming nature all astare.
